A Few Words From Broadlands New Naturalist Hello Broadlands! I am your new naturalist at the Nature Center. My name is Lisa Matthews and I am from just about everywhere. I have lived in 4 states, visited all but four and have lived in fi ve different countries and visited many more, which was all made possible because I am married to a Foreign Service Officer. I have studied biology, zoology and botany at Cal Poly, SDSU and UMCP and have enjoyed learning about the animals, plants and birds everywhere that I have lived. As a mother of three sons, I was heavily involved in Scouts and had the privilege to organize the nature and science programs for them and also for our local schools. I will offer programs for our youngest residents, but would also like to offer programs for the Middle and High School students that live in the Broadlands, who are interested in aspects of biology, zoology and botany in a “field” setting.  The y can sign up at the Nature Center. One Saturday a month I will run a family oriented program and hope to offer a monthly adult program in the future. Please contact me know what kind of programs you might like to attend.
